My boss recently had a loss in her family?

My boss recently had a loss in her family and I would like to know what should I do or say when she gets back to work. I did not attend her mothers funeral because I had just started my job 2 weeks ago and did not really work with her. So should I buy her a card or something. Oh yes and I am wanting to get a job that is opening up in her department...help
