Making money online? All these look like scams!?

I'm a single mother working part-time right now and have been looking into working from home at the computer for an online business or creating an e-bay sellers account. However I don't have a credit card and am not interested in one!! So the e-bay idea is out right now. As for the online businesses that offer working from home, I'm looking for one that is not a scam and that does not need to put money down to make money. Or any other ideas to make money online (no ';paid survey'; crap or anything like that though).
